Photo Essay

The beginning of another journey. No matter how big or small it is always exciting...that's the beauty of being young; you never know where the day may take you.
Some see beauty in nature, I see beauty in the grimy and man-made. The city is like a footprint of culture and community.

There is always something in the landscape to frame a picture. Whether its a fence, sidewalk, or a skyline.

Opening a door into a new experience. It's a refreshing feeling walking into a new environment...in this case its a bustling cafe where people come to catch up on old times and talk about future endeavors.

Descision, not Mary's forte. It's amazing how the little things can occupy our minds.

Admiring beautiful art to pass the time. We often talk about 'what ifs," like, what if I bought a big canvas? Could I sell my art for this much money? Probably not.

Reading the Shepherd Express silently. You know you are true friends when no talk is necessary to pass the time. There is no such thing as awkward silence between us.

ESSAY
As I stated in my proposal, my photo essay is of my roomie and I walking to lunch in Bayview. The city landscape is my favorite place to take pictures because it is real, no matter how ugly or harsh. When I was travelling a lone for a while in Europe, the things I missed most about my life back in Milwaukee are the little things. The best moments in life are those moments shared with good friends. My room mate and I always have a great time wherever we go. Good food and good conversation are priceless. I hope you will be able to appreciate the mundane by viewing my essay.

The link below will take you to my Flickr site to see the project also.
